Word on the street is that authors now have to have a blog, Facebook page, be on Twitter, etc. I'm new to writing, but it appears to me that doing all that takes a lot of time away from your primary pursuit - which is writing.
That said, I went ahead and decided to comply with contemporary thinking. However, I can't promise that I will be posting anything here daily, weekly, monthly, or what have you. I plan to devote most of my energy to writing. Still, I'm hoping that this will indeed be a way for me to connect with other readers/writers.
