My Journey as a Writer

To be frank, I didn't really set out to write erotica. I was actually just trying to write something that would allow me to do a dry run in terms of self-publishing so I could see how everything worked:  putting things on CreateSpace, writing ebooks for Kindle, etc.  (Basically, I was still trying to wrap my mind around this whole self-publishing concept to a certain extent.)

I figured a short story about relationships would be good - nobody would pay attention to it and I could get a feel for what the process was like.  But when I got to the intimacy part of the story I kind of lost control and the next thing I knew it was an erotic tale.

On top of that, I didn't even finish it initially.  I got maybe 80% of the way through it and then decided to move on to other things.  But there's an old saying about waste not/want not, and when I finally circled back to the story I decided that I should at least finish what I started.  So I did.

After I finished, however, I figured that it was at least worth taking a chance on publishing. And so I did.

Now I sit here waiting to see how that story will be received, wondering if I should have ever even tried my hand at this genre.  We'll see what happens...
