Well, today is the first day of a Kindle promotion whereby my erotic short story will be available for free. (You can check it out here.) The offer runs through tomorrow, so I'm hoping to have a good turnout in terms of downloads, although I really haven't done any other promoting. (I mentioned it in a few places on Goodreads and on my newly-established Twitter account.)
I just did a quick check and its been downloaded 16 times. Hopefully that number will increase substantially, but at the moment there's no such thing as bad publicity - any level of exposure is good. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the number of downloads will increase as the day progresses.
Update: I checked shortly after midnight on May 3 and saw that I had just over 100 downloads. Not bad (in my own opinion) for a short story that had very little promotion. (Or it's a testament to sites such as Goodreads, where I posted my free offer. I also paid $7 to submit it to Goodkindles.)
Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the number of downloads will increase as the day progresses.
